How does it work?
Time and Materials contract does not mean that you simply pay for the developer’s time. Contract T&M assumes payment by the fact of work performance.
If to go more detailed, here’s how it works:
Step 1. Overall project discussion
After discussing your business requirements and goals, the project is divided into tasks, each of them will be prioritized and estimated separately so that you have the opportunity to make any additions or modifications during the project development.
Step 2. First task estimation
The project team assesses the first task and gives you the information - how many man/hours are necessary for the task implementation. We provide you with the task estimation, and if you agree with the sum - we start.
Step 3. Development
After signing an agreement, we start the development process. Under the T&M pricing model, the client controls the project. This means that you can have a direct impact on the project during the entire development time.
Step 4. Payment
When the task is completed and you have a visible result - you pay for the work of the team (payment can occur monthly, quarterly, etc. - basing on the pre-negotiated and mutually agreed rate).
Step 5. Moving further
When the first task is done, accepted and paid, we can move on to discuss and evaluate the next task, and so on until the entire project is completed.

FAQ
T&M and fixed price models differ in project pricing and management. T&M uses actual hours and materials, ideal for evolving projects. Fixed price agrees on a set cost upfront, suitable for well-defined projects. Time and material rates involve hourly labor and material costs, while fixed-price offers a fixed project cost, regardless of hours or materials used.
Common time and material pricing examples include hourly labor rates and material costs like software licenses or hardware expenses. These rates can vary depending on the project and provider, and clients are billed for actual hours worked and materials used, providing flexibility and transparency.
The time and material billing format involves the contractor charging the customer for time and materials. The contractor bills for every man-hour spent on the project, as well as any materials purchased for that job.
Time & Material (T&M) pricing refers to a method in which an actual estimate is not provided to the client before the work begins. Instead, upon completion of the task, an invoice is issued that reflects the total hours worked, along with any materials that have been marked up at a predetermined rate.
