Why do you need a featured products block?
Highlighting the most popular products, bestsellers, or products on sale has 3 main benefits:
- Average check growth. When a customer has already added some products to the cart and sees the widget with the product they can also like, they are more likely to add them to the cart too.
- Increase in impulse purchases. If you put simple and cheap products in a separate block, you will see a growth of impulse purchases.
- Increase in sales of featured products. If you need to sell off stock, marking them as featured can bring more users’ attention and boost their sales.
Magento 2 featured products benefits
Customize widget layout
We plan to add 2 types of layouts of the widget: product grid slider and single product slider. So you can set up how many items users can see at once. Also, you will be able to choose the product sorting for the block and enable the Add to Cart button to increase conversions.
Set up animation
In our future Magento 2 Featured Products extension, we want to include several animations that you can use for your widgets. For example:
- Slider to the right or left;
- Slider up or down;
- Blackout with the CTA on hover;
- Add to cart on hover;
- Image zoom on hover.
Automate feature products list
This extension will support Automatic Related Products. Thus, you can set up rules for products you want to mark as featured and display them in the widget. Also, we plan to add the integration with the Shop by Brand extension to set up featured products for different brands.
Customizable design
You will have the opportunity to customize the color scheme of the widget to make it fit your store design. Also, you can choose a different font, set up slider width and height. Configure how many products you want to include in the slider and how fast they should change.
Manage all the featured products on a separate grid
Magento Featured Products extension will have a separate grid where you can see all the products marked as featured, add a new one, delete unnecessary, or change the picture assigned to the widget.
Place widget at any page of your store
It will be possible to place featured products widget on any page of your Magento 2 like homepage, catalog, product, about us, and other CMS pages. Also, you can place this block in the sidebar.
Select product pictures to display in the block
When you are adding the product to the featured list, you can choose what image you want to display in the widget or even upload a new one that will be visible in this block only. This way, you can pick the most attractive product picture and present it in the most favorable way.
