How to Swap Project Ownership

The Swap Project Ownership feature makes it possible to switch roles between the project owner and one of the customers with shared access.

This way, when you switch roles, the current owner becomes a customer with access, while the selected customer becomes the new project owner.

Key Details:

Available only for shared projects (must have at least one customer with access).
The swap also transfers Composer keys from the previous owner’s project.
Product licenses are not transferred during this process – only ownership of the project itself.
The previous owner will only see their own modules in the shared project.
The new owner will now see their own licenses and other customers with access to the project, if those were added.
Other customers with access remain unchanged.

1. The project must be in your My production projects list.

2. The project must be shared with at least one other user.

3. There must be no licenses pending transfer in this project (statuses Pending transfer or Transfer approved).

1. Go to Customer Account → License Registration → My Production Projects. Click View next to the project you want to transfer.

2. Ensure there are no licenses in Pending transfer or Transfer approved. If there are, finish or cancel the transfers first.

3. Click Swap ownership.

4. In the pop-up, click the Swap ownership option next to the required email address.

5. Confirm the action by pressing Continue.

6. You’ll see a success message once the swap is complete.

Former owner: The project moves to their Projects shared with me grid. Composer keys generated earlier are removed from this project.
New owner: The project appears in their My production projects grid. Composer keys from the previous project are automatically transferred to them, and they now see all items added by themselves and other customers.
Other shared users: Their access stays the same.
The Swap ownership: option remains available for the new owner.
