How to update the GeoIP database for Admin Actions Log?

When you install your Admin Log Extension, it has the latest GeoIP database out-of-box. But from time to time, you need to check if a more recent version of the database has appeared. If yes, update it manually to keep your Admin Panel secure.

For this, please follow the instructions below:

1) Download the fresh IP geolocation databases:

2) Put them into the folder (create folder if it does not exist):



3) Go to "Admin Panel/System/Configuration/Geo Ip Data" and click "Download and Import". Then wait up to 20 minutes without closing the browser window and attempting to operate Magento backend in separate tabs.


4) Then open "Admin Panel/System/Configuration/Admin Actions Log/Geolocation" and select 'Yes' for the "Use Geo IP" option.
